Commemoration of International Day of Non-Violence is observed on 2 October, the Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi , United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC)



Assistant Prof.Dr.Damrongphon Inchan, Dean of the Faculty of Archaeology, Silpakorn Univeristy, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sombut Mangmeesuksiri Director of Sanskrit Study Centre and Dr.Wutthiphong Thawinsombut, Department of Oriental Languages, and the Silpakorn University students from Hindi language class have joined a special event to commemorate the International Day of Non-Violence coincide with the Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi on Monday 2 October 2023 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) organized by the Embassy of India in Bangkok, in collaboration with UNESCAP. October 2 is a national holiday in India. The day honours Mahatma Gandhi, the values of non-violence and tolerance he preached, and pays tribute to the freedom fighter. People celebrate the day to promote peace, harmony, and unity worldwide.
